Ciao everyone,
Not sure if the weather over here is making the news over there but it is bloody freezing. There is talk of getting snow and there is a little bit in the air but not what they are getting in Rome and other areas of italy. It is amazing. There are people dying everywhere because of the weather, their houses are getting covered and there is no way in or out for them or the food. The electricty and other things are not working.
Here in Florence it is really cold and our apartment is cold but you just have to wear lots of clothes.
So today was Friday and then end of our first week at class and it has been great. Am looking forward to the weekend as my head is full of lots of stuff and it seemed to have stopped working today. Oh well the weekend will clear it hopefully and it will be ready to learn more on Monday.
We had booked in for a cooking class today. OMG how can one class be so much fun. It was totally in italian and Guisseppe didn't speak any english. His wife spoke some but it was ok, we can understand most of it now.
So it was a simple menu to start the course. So it was crostini, then pasta cabornara and then roast veal with salad. Now there was only 5 of us from class. 2 people from our class and another lady who we know anyway from other things we have been doing.
Here is what we made and then ate.
The cooking part was fun but not difficult it was what was to come that was so much fun. With every course we had a bottle of wine depending on what we were having. So white to start, then another white, then a red and then desert wine with the desert and then grappa and digistivi.

However what we were all to discover was that Guisseppe was a magician. So after the cooking and eating he started doing magic tricks for us. It was amazing and so much fun.
I have a video of this trick. He had a lit cigarette and put it inside the jacket and we never saw it again. So for the rest of the night we kept asking where the cigarette went (remember we had a few wines so our requests were often and loud).
He did several card tricks and we still cant work it out. So it wasn't just a cooking class but a magic show and we had one of the best nights ever. We are going to do another class but maybe it wont be as funny as this was a friday night and we didn't have to go anywhere the next day. We nearly missed our bus but Guiseppe ran across the road and asked the bus driver to wait for us and we all came out running and laughing and well full of grog. We got off the bus at the main station and started to walk Lisa home but well we decided that 11.30 was too early to go home so we went and found ourselves a pub. So we found an irish pub and had another drink (one for the road).
We eventually made it home at 1am. Lucky no school the next day. We did have a church visit booked with the school at 10:30 that should be ok, right.

Oggi era a buon giorno. Finalmente l'ultima classe per la settimana. Era buon cosa perché il mio testo non funzione. Dopo 4 classe è pieno.
Abbiamo prenotato un corso di cucina per stasera. Le classe è cominciata alle 4pm and e finito forse 11.30pm.
Abbiamo cucinato 4 cose (le foto sopra). Questo classe è stato molto divertente.
La nostra insignente era molto gentile, molto simpatico and molto divertente. Penso che andremo a altre classe.
Domani visiteremo Chiesa di San Lorenzo.
