Firenze school every day - 8 february 2012

8 february 2012

Ciao tutti

Hi everyone, I am trying to write in italian for the first part of the blog to get me used to writing in italian. The classes are great. The first 2 hours are grammar and the second 2 hours are conversation. It is a great structure.

After class we went to the markets and bought a chook for 2.50 euro so we made chicken catchatore (sorry I cant spell) with polenta, yummy and we have left overs for tomorrow lunch.

It is only our first few days but we are both loving it and if you are going to learn a language this is the way to do it. There is a structure to the day and even when you leave there are shops to use the language. We get home and do our homework and then usually there is something on at 4pm to visit or hear about (also in italian).

It is still very cold and our teacher told us today that it is going to get colder and perhaps snow this weekend. There never seems enough hours in the day. We get up at 7 as the bells wake us. Have breakfast, check emails etc when the internet is working. Get readay and then it is time to go to class. We are in classe until 1pm and then we usually go to shops to pick stuff up and return home. Have lunch and then do our homework. By that time it is 3.30 and almost time to go back out for an activity organised by the school. Due to the weather these are not very long but still good. We then come home and get dinner ready and read some more italian or watch some tv. It is going to be really hard to move on from here.

I have now finished cleaning the dinner stuff and writing to you all. I hope everyone is all ok with the strange weather that seems to be all over the world.
I miss you all especially Audry but from what I understand from Kylie she is loving the farm and may not want to come home when we get there. She is off the chain most of the day as she doesn't go anywhere and gets lots of exercise and great foo. So she may not love us so much when we return. Thanks Kylie for looking after her.

Time for us to go to bed. This will be late when you get it as we still dont have internet.
