If I was single - 30 Dec

m&s if i was single

If i was single and lived near a M&S I would never have to cook. Leonie you need one near you, not that you are single but the prepackaged food is so cheap even the veggies and salad stuff. You could throw a party and pretend you cooked it all.

We had a list today of things that we wanted to do as we really have spent the last few days just wandering around. So the list included: the roman bath house, buy rain coats, the old abbey church and guildhead market hall. So off we went to finish off our list, we got to the roman bath house and soon discovered there was a free 2hr guided walk around Bath- awesome, we are starting to really love tours and especially when they are free.

The tour was great - we learnt about the history of bath (this is where you came to be seen). If you weren't in Bath for the season you were nobody. Lucky everybody saw me as my new rain coat is bright pink (hey it was 20 pounds).

Jess - we even got to walk along the gravel path that jane Austin wrote about in one of her books. The photo belo is us and the tour group walking along the same path that jane Austin walked and wrote about.

Some interesting facts from this walk. The women when they went to a dance wore this white lead makeup on their face, if they had poks (scaring on the face) they would cover it up with a piece of velvet stuck to their face. This is where the beauty spot comes from. Also if they had lost their teeth and therefore their cheeks were hollow they would put pieces of cork in their mouths to fill it out. Apparently the fashion of the day was to have rather large and prominent eyebrows and if you didn't then you had pieces of mouse skin/fur cut out and stuck to your face. Lovely so I don't think I will complain about having to do my hair etc.

This place is so interesting and the 2hrs went really quickly.

Actually as I sit here and write this our time has gone so quickly in Bath. This is a beautiful and interesting town.

PS I know you would all be really disappointed if there was no mention of a pub visit, well actually there were two. One for lunch so I could post the last two days up on the blog and then later after the tour and a trip home to drop some things off and then back out to the Salamander for a drink. Home for tea after another trip to M&S to pick up our dinner. Tonights choice is pizza and salad with a wine.
