Paris, the real city of love - 8th January

So far the french seem nice, I can confirm there is dog shit everywhere just like we were told. We bought some pastries for breakfast, yummy yummy. The first full day in Paris it involved walking and getting lost. We happened upon Notre Dame, which is a most lovely church and as we walked around the inside they were having a service and it sounded so lovely to hear it going on as you looked at the church. Across the Seine river to stroll through the streets and just wander around. We got to see the gypsie people at work. The first time we saw them I wasn't sure what was happening. It is the drop down and pick up a ring and then give it to the person near you. We kept seeing this happen and each time I got to see a bit more and worked most of it out, but couldn't figure what the scam is so had to look it up. They drop the ring pretend that it belongs to someone hand it over to them and then walk away. They either run after them in a little bit or there is another family member further on begging for money and it all gets a bit confusing. It seems to happen around all tourist areas. Found a little piggy friend for Audry but I don't think she can play with this one.

Nat here is a photo for you. The outside of this building is made of plants.

Paris must be so lovely in the Spring/Summer with all of the trees out in bloom. Not sure of the name of this bridge but it is very beautiful.

Look what Brett found when he blew his nose.

We found the Eifel tower, it is magnificent.

It was time to go home for a nap so we caught the metro home. Going through the gates of metro, I nearly broke my nose. Man it still hurts. So we bought our tickets, I put it in and they have this thing that you have to push as you go through, I wasn't paying attention and I pushed it but it sprung straight back into me and hit me right on the bridge of the nose. Damm being short. I said the f..k word very loud. It still hurts now. So now i have a fear of subway ticket booths. My lovely husband let me have a nap when we got back to the apartment. Such a lovely nap and time to go out again. Brett had done some research and there were some lips he wanted to find (no not mine).

These are the most famous lips. It is in a fountain with other art work. It was an interesting walk home we ended up walking along a street, close to ours that had a lot (a lot) of adult stores, video rooms, massage palore etc. We even got to see the girls out working. Defiantly the city of love. We have signed up to a free walk tomorrow for 3hrs. Then Tuesday is our cooking class. We have to fit in a visit to the Louve and some of the other areas. The days go by so fast. Love Monique, Brett, Marty, Kiwi and Hooter
